The 1st edition of the MOOC “Geographical analysis of natural risk: Perceive, plan and manage uncertainty” has concluded and we want to thank you for your interest and participation in it.
We are very happy with the acceptance that the course has had in its first edition: 1,115 initial registrants of which 1,011 started the course. Of these, 566 finished some of the course modules and 221 have successfully finished the course, obtaining the certificate of participation and/or achievement. The success rate of MOOC courses offered through the main educational platforms (Coursera, EdX, or MiriadaX itself) fluctuates between 5 and 10%. In our case, we have doubled-quadrupled that percentage to obtain more than 20% of success, and that is thanks to you.
To all those who have successfully completed the course, we congratulate you and we hope that the course has been useful to you at a professional and/or educational level, in addition to contribute offering a global vision of how Geography can contribute to improve natural risk analysis.
Likewise, we encourage all those enrolled who have not been able to complete the course in this edition to enroll in the 2nd edition of the course that will open in the Spring 2020. We wait for you!
Thank you very much for making us confident and for sharing your experience, but also for sharing your suggestions, which will undoubtedly help us to be more competitive and be up to the audience, increasingly prepared and demanding.
Greetings and see you soon,
Sandra Ricart and María Hernández Course coordinators and teaching team leaders
