On December 19 took place the II Meeting of Directors of Water Research Centers in Spain, organized by the Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering (IIAMA) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, attended by the Interuniversity Institute of Geography, represented on this occasion by researcher María F. Zaragoza Martí.
Various research institutes from all over Spain have participated in this meeting, whose research activity is related to water resources from many different scientific perspectives: sustainable management of water resources, integral water cycle, water-agriculture / water-city, planning and land management, microbiological quality of water, river landscape, flood risks, among others.
The result of this meeting was very fruitful, as it was agreed to give visibility to this research group through social networks and the website created for this purpose, increasing communication channels on this scientific area. The need was expressed to request a thematic network offered by the corresponding Ministry, as an initial platform on providing this group of entity and relevance and, for the next annual meeting, it is intended to conduct, in parallel, a Youth Day Researchers, in order to promote the scientific approach and give visibility to new researchers. The III Meeting, scheduled for 2020, will be held in Cantabria, where legal-formal issues of the network will continue to be addressed and highlighting the scientific activities that these research institutes carry out.
