What is your academic background and professional experience?
My academic background is Bachelor in Geography (UNS), Master in Planning and Management of Natural Risks (UA), Specialist in Automated Cartography, Remote Sensing and GIS (UAEM) and advanced student of the Doctorate in Environmental Sciences (UAEM).
How did you find the Interuniversity Institute of Geography of the University of Alicante?
During the period 2011-2012 I was a student and graduated from the Master in Planning and Management of Natural Risks offered by the Interuniversity Institute of Geography. I was grauted with a scholarship by the Bank Santander - UA.
After graduating, the academic relationship with the professors of the Master continues until today.
What motivated your stay at the Interuniversity Institute of Geography of the University of Alicante?
The reason for the stay was to conduct a research internship for the period of 6 months within the framework of the Doctorate in Environmental Sciences (UAEM). I was awarded with a scholarship by the Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología of Mexico (CONACYT).
What research project did you develop during your stay?
I conducted the pertinent research to my thesis subject, corresponding to my 5th semester of doctorate. The professor with whom I made my stay was Dr. Alfredo Ramón Morte, in the Geomatics Laboratory. The subject of my thesis, besides calculating the costs of flooding in Mexico, was to carry out the spatial analysis of floods corresponding to my study area.
To what extent were the technical facilities and the work team of the Institute useful for the development of your research?
Both the facilities provided by the Institute and the work team, managers and administrative staff were excellent for the development of my research
What is your assessment of the educational and recreational offer offered by the university campus?
I consider that the educational and recreational offer of the University campus is excellent, not only from my experience during the research stay, but also because of my experience as a graduate student.
